ÖMER ÖNGÜT

Ömer Öngüt, the author, was born in 1927 in a town of Kosova called Yenipazar. His father is Muharrem Efendi, his mother is Çelebiye Hanım. Ömer Öngüt is the grandchild of Sheikh (head of a religious order) Ahmad -may Allah sanctify his secret- from Medina who descended from the Messenger of Allah Muhammad -peace be upon him.

Sheikh Ahmad -may Allah sanctify his secret- went temporarily to Yenipazar of Kosova from Medina but he died there. His children dwelt in Yenipazar; later his grandchildren moved to reside in Turkey instead of Medina.

The author is living in Adapazarı in Turkey, now. He is the head of a religious order and a learned scholar in Sufism.

His sole aim is to bring people to love Allah -may His glory be exalted- and His Messenger Muhammad -peace be upon him-; to unite mankind in Allah and His Messenger, to spread Muhammad’s -peace be upon him- light and to purify and save hearts from everything but Allah.

He is a man who has attained the great blessings of these holy verses:

“Behold! Verily on the Friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve; those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil. For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the hereafter. No change can there be in the Words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity.” (Yunus: 62-63-64)

Ömer Öngüt is the founder of Waqf (a pious foundation for spreading Islam and helping the poor) Hakikat which was set up in 1988.

Waqf Hakikat provides homes for students, food and clothes for the poor and establishes public nursery schools. In order to perform the mentioned activities Waqf Hakikat never seeks any material interest (money...) from anyone. It gets its financial needs by selling the Islamic books of Ömer Öngüt. The profit earned from the sale of the books belongs to the Waqf. Neither Waqf Hakikat nor Ömer Öngüt asks payment for their endeavor according to the following holy verse:

“Follow those who ask of you no fee, and who are rightly guided.” (Ya-sin: 21)

A Muslim should find a “Perfect Guide” and thus be saved from the tricks of Satan and reach the Truth as stated in the holy verse:

“O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with the truthful ones.” (Tawba:119)
